Alphabones “M”Designer: Francois Robert
Bring to class your work in progress for the Unusual Materials Poster. Your design idea should be fully resolved, all materials issues explored and in progress. If you’re working with difficult-to-transport substances—this might be called the year of honey!—you may just photograph the lettering in your studio and not take the dangerously sticky trip to class, ruining all of your hard work in the process.
Reminders: your thumbnails and comps should always include “the box’, framed in the relative proportions of the 11 x 17” poster. As mentioned, vertical posters are more typical but your art can be horizontal if that appropriately fits the design and concept. Most of you will have your designs photographed. Do it well. The lighting and framing of the composition are part of the art.
Bring your sketchbooks too; show them to me.
Critique will be the following week, poster printed to be critiqued and handed in.
